On a serious note, today is a very sad day. Today is the day that Mr. Rogers has his very last show. Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood has been on the air for more than thirty years. This last show will not be a good-bye show because Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood will continue on in reruns. Mr. Rogers entered the lives of many over the years being our television neighbor. Some adults watched the show when they were children. Now that they have children of their own, they get to share the magic of a television neighbor with the most important people in their lives. We will never forget his soft, slow voice, his endless supply of sweaters, his blue sneakers, trolley, the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday, feeding the fish, and Mr. McFeely's speedy deliveries. The greatest thing we'll miss is Mr. Rogers. He has touched the lives of millions. He shows that he cares for each and every child even though he is inside an electronic box. We will miss you Mr. Rogers and we wish you well.

I was surfing through the channels this morning when something caught my eye. Martha Stewart was cooking with Elmo, the little red monster from Sesame Street. To feed my curiosity, I watched them cook when I noticed something that surprised me. Elmo has no eyelids. To think about it, most of our puppet friends from Sesame Street don't have eyelids. Wouldn't this frighten the kids? Monsters with big round eyes staring at you and never blinking. Their eyes haunting every single move anyone makes. It boggles the mind how we let these monsters entertain our young children everyday.

Never buy ant spray again. You can make your own with two very common household ingredients. First, add water to any clean, empty spray bottle. You can find these bottles at most hardware stores. I have even seen them at my local grocery store. Next, add soap to the water. Regular dish washing liquid will work fine. Just add enough water for it to be soapy like soapy water used for washing dishes. Spray onto ants and watch them die!

Falling down the stairs isn't as bad as falling down an escalator. On escalators you either fall faster if the escalator is going down or never stop falling if the escalator is going up.

Many people find that today's schools are inadequate because of the unqualified teachers. Schools don't need better teachers. Schools need smarter students. The only way to raise the test scores is to get smarter students to take the tests. Current students are beyond help from teachers or anyone. Email me your thoughts.
